2016 BASE Team Info
2015 has been an amazing year! We couldn’t have been so successful without our awesome ambassadors! We are very excited about 2016 and planning some awesome things to come to ensure it is even better. We listened to your feedback and are creating three different teams for 2016 as to provide an opportunity for everyone to participate. We have also partnered with some incredible companies to offer benefits to reward your contribution and involvement with BASE. We are looking to grow the community spirit of the team and putting together a BASE Team Target Race, as well as a BASE Training Camp. Lastly, for those looking to get more involved, than only being part of the team, we’re looking for the following BASE Team Leads – (8) Regional Social Chairs, a Gear Coordinator, and a Sponsor/Partner Coordinator. Team Applications are due by 12/2 (we need to select team and order gear by 12/15 to have it in by the start of the season).
THE BASE TEAMS
In 2016 we will have three different levels of BASE Teams (BASE Pro Team, The BASE Race Team, and The BASE Ambassador Team). Each of theses will have their own benefits and requirements that you can read about below. Our goal is to create a community of athletes who are committed to helping BASE Performance grow and succeed. Unlike many other teams we are not overly concerned with Kona qualifications and podiums, we are interested in good people. Newbies as well as old timers to the sport who are fun, dedicated, inspiring, and ready to make a difference in the world of endurance sports.
BASE Race Team:
This team is for those who will race as BASE Athletes, they want to me more involved with BASE and in return, they will receive a higher level of team benefits than those on the ambassador team. For the race team, you will wear your BASE Tri Top during races, wear the BASE logo on the podium, and serve as an advocate for BASE Performance, our products and our brand partners. You will be joining a group of amazing BASE Team members, and will receive invitations to BASE Team events. BENEFITS

BASE Ambassador Team
We understand that many of you race for other teams such as Betty, Soas, Wattie, Big Sexy, etc. and we want to include you in the fun too! You’ll still receive many of the benefits of Race Team members without the same level of commitment. You can still wear your other team top, but we ask that you wear BASE gear during some of your training and serve as a BASE advocate. BENEFITS

This team is for those carrying a Pro card. Commitments and benefits will be negotiated and determined with Matt and Tony on a case-by-case basis. Please only apply for this level if you are a professional triathlete. Click here to apply.
BASE Team Experience
We want to make 2016 an amazing experience for everyone involved. Last year we heard some feedback that we should have more events, and opportunities to get the team together. We also heard that some thought it seemed expensive with having to place orders for 2XU racing kits, and other gear. So we listened to your thoughts and have found a solution to improve 2016. BASE Swag We want to make the team cohesive and fun. If you’ve seen us on course, you know we are a lot of FUN, and to continue this let’s make the BASE Team loud and proud for 2016! We’re asking for payment up front for gear which will be provided at a discounted rate—kits, hats/visors, t-shirts. As you can see in the team breakdown above we are bringing a great value to the cost. BASE Pre Race Events We’re planning a ton of events around the country based on the race schedule and the races we will be at to make sure that everyone has a chance to attend a few. Events such as pre-race shake-out workouts, team meals and socials for Team Members both at IRONMAN events and locally, as coordinated by your regions Social Chair. BASE Team Target Event To kick off the season, we’d like to make Texas 70.3 in Galveston on April 10, 2016 a “Team Target Event”. Sign up to race the whole thing, join a relay or just come to spectate and hang out! This will be a Season Kick Off target event, where we can meet one another and show the endurance sports world how fun the BASE Crew is! Flights tend to be cheap, and we can coordinate houses to rent as a group to keep costs down. Certainly not obligatory, but you’ll be sorry if you miss out. BASE Camp We’re also planning to host a few weekend-long training camps throughout the year. BASE Team Members will receive discounted registration rates as well as invitations to Team-only events. Stay tuned for details. We have a few amazing locations in mind with some professional athletes making appearances. BASE Camp is going to be awesome.
BASE TEAM LEADS
To ensure that we are able to offer you guys the very best experience in 2016 we are looking for some help in the following areas. If you think that you would like to take on an even larger role on the team, please check those boxes when you fill out your application. BASE Regional Social Chair The social chair is a BASE Team member (any level) who organizes events in their area. You will be provided with a small stipend to spend. Ideas we’ve had are Team pre-race dinners at local events, nutrition clinics, post-workout beers, etc. BASE Gear Coordinator As the season progresses, we’ll likely place orders for additional gear once or twice. The Gear Coordinator will help us organize orders and distribute them when they arrive from the manufacturer. This individual will ideally live in or near Boulder, CO, although we’d accept the right person if they happened to live elsewhere.
