Shawn is a husband and a father of 3 boys 19, 17 and 7 who have swim meets and football games he rarely misses even if it means getting up at 3am and starting my long Saturday ride. He has ridden to swim meets 130 miles away, done run workouts in between heats at a conference match and basically adapted his training to not impact his family.
Shawn is the Director for Product Development for a Medical device company specializing in the reconstruction of Child’s Facial deformities, Facial Trauma, Chest wall reconstruction and Heart Surgery Closure devices where he works 40-50 hours a week and travels extensively.
Shawn also coaches triathletes and cyclists who have been very successful with over 10 athletes qualifying for Ironman Hawaii or 70.3 World Championships.
Shawn is a regular contributor to a weekly email or video for the VMS Coaching Blog that covers the Jacksonville triathlon community

I was training for my first triathon, a half Ironman, and mini calf cramps kept coming on. Bestie recommended this…worked great on a training ride and then used it during my event. It was hot/himid and as many were stopping for cramping, I was able to keep going.
Been using base salt for a couple years now. 2 licks every mile and a half and it helps tremendously with my running and electrolytes. I’m a big sweater and it’s been a blessing for me!
Super convenient I used for my 70.3 I am a salty sweater and would’ve died without it. Easy to use on the bike and the run will be ordering a lot more!
I enjoy the flavors of the Base Greens and I feel I get a boost of energy after drinking them. I've tried other green drinks but these by far are the best out there. Keep up the good work BASE!!
