COACH KELLY PHUAH

I am Kelly Phuah, an IRONMAN Certified coach with experience as an elite age group triathlete, I bring my race experience and formal education in health and nutrition to my coaching. (Bachelor of Nursing and Masters Degree in Public Health)  My coaching philosophy is shaped by my education and career in nursing and public health, and my life as an athlete. Based around the idea of sustainability and longevity in sport, I believe that participation in sports is a lifestyle and that whilst there will be big aggressive goals and challenges set, at the end of the day there is enjoyment and balance. I want to build fit, tenacious and resilient athletes from new comers, experienced athletes and everyone in between.

I coach triathletes with various abilities, ages and levels for Base Performance in swim, bike, run and strength. I enjoy helping them to achieve goals ranging from winning age groups through to finishing with a smile.

My family and I are Australians now living in Denver CO. My husband is a super fast Cat 2 Road cyclist and I love trying to keep up with him on the bike. Our teenage sons are more moderate in their sporting activities and think we are a little nuts. We enjoy travelling and hiking together, this year we are planning a hike up one of Colorado's 14ers!

I am an accomplished athlete and practice what I preach (almost) every day,  I am currently ranked #1 W45-49 triathlete in the USA by USA Triathlon and #1 W45-49 70.3 triathlete in the world by WTC.  In 2018 I was 2nd overall amateur female athlete at Boulder Ironman and 3rd W45-49 at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii
