Ernie began Triathlon during his sophomore year of college at Arizona State after his hockey career fizzled out like the fireworks in the movie Hot Rod, following in his brother Steve's footsteps. The process of getting to train a lot and having it actually work was very motivating to Ernie, and during his senior year of College, he placed 3rd at collegiate nationals. Right now, Ernie works at Runners Roost and the Source Endurance Training Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins, CO to support his professional exercise career. In his free time, he enjoys binge eating ice cream and crushing naps. Being a part of the Base Performance team is very exciting to Ernie because there are so many athletes with motivating stories, and opportunities to share exercise knowledge and experiences with throughout the year with other BASE athletes.
