Christina is a 45 year old Trading Analyst from Spokane, WA.

I was never really an athletic kid growing up. As I got into my 20's I took up bodybuilding and found I excelled at the sport and the discipline it required. After doing it for 12 years I got burned out and needed a break. Years and added pounds later, I longed for a healthy, physical activity. I had always admired triathletes because of their discipline and ability to push themselves. However, I felt it was something I could never do because I couldn't run or swim. So at the age of 43 I began taking swimming lessons and worked on overcoming my fear of water. Now I can say I look forward to my swims and find the water calming.

Last year Christina competed in her first triathlon and ran her first sub 2 hour half marathon at the Portland Half. After facing her fears and learning she can do anything she sets her mind to, she's excited to see where the sport of triathlon will take her.
