BASE Fantasy Draft

BASE Fantasy Triathlon Draft Rules & Point System for Base Performance 2017

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DRAFT THE BEST PLACE TO ASK THEM IS ON THE BASE FACEBOOK PAGE UNDER THE FANTASY TRI PICTURE. DO NOT REPLY TO THE EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS.

Hello Everyone,  Welcome to the Base Performance Triathlon Point Challenge. The Base Team has decided to have a draft this year of all our athletes and use a point system to determine a winner. One lucky team will have an all expense paid trip to the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii in October 2018 with the Base Performance Team and all their teammates. The winning team will have airfare, bike transport, and accommodations covered. We are going to try to rent a massive house in Kona for everyone.

What you need to do

All participating athletes must have a Social Media presence i.e. Facebook or Instagram and an Athlinks.com account to keep track of all your races and times throughout the season.

Athlinks.com is a website that keeps track of all your races and times in one place. You will be required to add all your races throughout the year and send your link to your captain at the end of each month. Failing to do so will be loss of points for your entire team.

Social Media presence is another way to earn points. You will be required to have a Facebook or Instagram account to earn points.

How it works

Teams will be broken up into groups of 8-12. All teams will have equal numbers. The total number of teams and athletes per team will be decided after February 15th once all entries have been selected. BASE will then decide how many different teams, and will ask for captains. Then the teams will be selected per captain by drawing names in order out of a hat and placed on each team. Each team captain will report weekly team totals to the commissioner, Jayson, so we can all stay up to date on how the year is going. We recommend each team set up their own Marco Polo app to communicate with each other. It is awesome.

How do you earn points

Points will start 3/1/17 and last opportunity to earn points is 11/30/17. You must be wearing a Base Performance Kit or accessory to receive points.

So team, does this all make sense? You are required to let your captain know you raced. They don’t have the time to watch 30+ athletes and what they are doing for the year. They are relying on you to make them aware. You will be required to update your Athlinks account, the race results usually show up 5-6 business days after the race results are posted. Athlinks has every race you have ever done, you just have to add the race to your account. That’s how your captain will know your point value for the race, as well as go on to your Social Media account to make sure you followed all the guidelines for said race.

Another huge part of what we do is Volunteering. It is the heart and soul of this amazing sport. Without them we would be training for nothing. So we have come up with a point system to make it worth your while, obviously if you aren’t doing out of the goodness of your heart.

Volunteering

  • Remember to go on to the Ironman Website and make sure Base Performance is listed as the team you are affiliated with.
  • Expo leads who are getting paid do not qualify for volunteer points
  • 100 points per hour for an Expo or Race Day
  • Must be wearing a BP accessory and Social Media posts are required
  • A letter or email from the race committee acknowledging your help

Social Media is one of the biggest marketing tools we have in 2017, and is one of the reasons our company has been able to be as big as it is today. We have come up with a way to earn some extra points for your team that will be added up on 11/30/17. This will probably be the game changer.

Training & Social Media posts
(Starts 3/1/17 and Ends 11/30/17)

To receive your points you will be required to tag your captain, and base performance in your posts. At least one Base Performance # (hashtag) is required. (Facebook and Instagram of same post counts as 1)

  • 100 Points for 1-5 posts with Base product & Base hashtag
  • 250 Points for 6-10 posts with Base product & Base hashtag
  • 500 points for 11+ posts with Base product & Base hashtag
  • Race day required posts to not count towards this tally. These are for training days.

What does it cost:

The cost to participate is either $100 in one lump sum or $12.95 paid out monthly on an auto bill program much like our auto ship, over 10 months. (BASE has to pay a per transaction cc processing fee, hence why it is $12.95 instead of $10) This money will be pooled and used to cover the expenses to Kona. If you select the monthly billing option, you must do so for 10 consecutive months, February start until November end. If you cancel this monthly billing before November you will forfeit all of your points you earned for your team.

In order for this to work, we must have at least 200 team members agree to participate. If we do not have 200 team members sign up we will not go forward with the draft and your money will be refunded around March 10th.
