COLIN LAUGHERY

Colin Laughery is a native and lifelong resident of Boulder, Colorado.  Being from Boulder, it was natural for him to take up endurance sports.  He swam competitively from age six through 18, then had two years of DIII NCAA competition.  After giving up on sports for a year, he felt the urge to give a sprint triathlon a try in 2003 and had a blast.  He spent the next couple of years racing locally as a recreational athlete.
In 2010, he signed up for Ironman Florida as his first full distance event.  That set the stage to specialize in long distance events.  After racing Kona three times, and having success as an amateur, Colin  started racing professionally in 2015. Since 2010, Colin has completed over 25 full Ironman distance races.  Almost all of them were done in a speedo and those that were not are regrettable.
Colin is most importantly a father of two, dog father of three, a husband, brother, and a son.  Family is the most important part of his life and it shapes how he approaches coaching, racing, and training.
Colin is seen with Rocket Fuel and a speedo stuffed with BASE Salt during every race.  He also consumes a hefty amount of BASE bars during training.
